Bariatric Exercise

People undergoing bariatric surgery often suffer from a huge misconception–that excess weight must be lost before learning to move. Spoiler alert: this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Bariatric Exercise is the guide for people beginning their weight-loss journey who want to get a head-start on their overall health by learning to move, laying a foundation that will last long after the weight is gone.

In this science-based how-to guide filled with pictures and easy-to-follow instructions, Marcos Hernandez teaches:

• Why breathing and the movement of individual joints are the basis for any movement practice
• A detailed look at the way the human body is designed to move, both one limb at a time and as a whole
• How to develop and implement a weekly movement practice
• Tips for cultivating and maintaining the habit of movement

By the end of Bariatric Exercise, you’ll feel confident that you can lay the groundwork for your journey into movement, create the systems to incorporate regular movement into your daily life, and take the steps to both prepare for and come back from bariatric surgery in the best possible position for success!
