The Arthur J. Barnes Publishing Company, St. Louis, MO. 1911. Hardcover. Book is tight, square, but does have former student writing on endpapers and marginal notations throughout the book. Book Condition: Good; shelfwear to head, tail, and tips with wear through the fabric. No DJ. Black pebbled cloth on the boards and spine with bright silver lettering and shield design on the front board; blind stamp borders on front and rear boards. 172 pp + 3 pp adverts 12mo. In 1885 the Barnes shorthand teaching methods departed from the usual method of characters taught by shorthand authors and teachers. Many changes were made and especially the Graham plan of joining the semicircles in 1888. Other changes were made and the Sentence Method was adapted in 1900. This book introduces further improvements. A clean very presentable copy.
