About the Author
Robert R. Redfield, MD, is a pioneer in clinical human viral research, with notable accomplishments in the area of HIV immunoregulation, immunotherapy, and vaccine development. In collaboration with Dr. Robert Gallo's group in the mid-1980's, Redfield was the first to demonstrate heterosexual transmission of HIV-1.
