12mo. Pp. (3), 384. Khaki cloth with state seal stamped in blind on front board, gilt lettering and stamped on spine. All edges dyed red. Both hinges starting, three or four leaves with foxing, edge-wear and rubbing to cloth. A presentable copy issued under the first governorship of Elisha Ferry during the first year of statehood. Ferry had already served two terms as Territorial governor (the only to do so); his leadership is noted for fair-dealing and financial prudence, bringing the state budget into solid standing - a challenge given the advent of railroad activity and major fires, all in 1889, that destroyed Seattle, Spokane and Ellensburg. SOLIDAY II: 1273.
