About the Author

Richard Rhodes and Steven Hayward are co-founders of the American Coaching Institute, a certification program for athletic coaches. Rhodes has worked as an athletic director, high school varsity baseball coach, junior high school boys and girls basketball coach, and junior high school physical education teacher. He has also conducted basketball clinics and coached community recreation league sports. Currently he is the superintendent/principal of Black Butte Union Elementary School District in Shingletown, California. Hayward has worked as a high school and youth coach for football, baseball, softball teams and in recreation leagues. He is now a full-time student at the University of Phoenix, Sacramento, California.
