Basic Spanish for the Health Professions

Basic Spanish for the Health Professions introduces basic Spanish grammar and basic vocabulary used in the medical professions. Each lesson presents simple vocabulary used in everyday situations by health care professionals in different work settings (hospitals, doctor’s offices and emergency rooms). This book contains six lessons and two modules with each lesson. In the first module, different basic grammar topics are introduced. In the second module, each lesson presents different medical situations. the book includes edical Vocabulary in the form of dialogs and a cultural theme that highlights Hispanic topics and traditions in the medical field. The cultural notes described in each lesson are broad generalizations about a heterogeneous group of Latinos. Health Care providers should look more deeply into the particular cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic characteristics of their patients' backgrounds.
