Edward E. Daub is professor emeritus of engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He is author of Kanji for Comprehending Technical Japanese, coauthor of Basic Technical Japanese and Comprehending Technical Japanese, and coeditor of Reflections on Science by NAKAYA Ukichiro: An Advanced Japanese Reader.

R. Byron Bird is professor emeritus of chemical engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
