The book combines a clinical framework complete with real-world examples to integrate the theory and practice of veterinary medicine. Each chapter begins with a clinically relevant veterinary issue and then presents one aspect of basic immunology in the context of that issue. Gerald N. Callahan is a professor of immunology and public understanding of science at Colorado State University with joint appointments in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology and the Department of English. Robin M. Yates is associate professor in the Departments of Comparative Biology and Experimental Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Calgary.
