Basic Wax Modeling: An Adventure in Creativity

Description: Profusely illustrated in black and white with one double page display in color. From the introduction: ''Mr. Hiroshi Tsuyuki has taken an innovative approach to teaching the technique of wax modeling. This book is used as a text at the Jewelry Studies Institute in Tokyo, Japan. Too often a process is easier shown than described. This book was conceived through his teaching experience -- more photographs, sketches and less text resulting in less over-the-shoulder supervision. By introducing new techniques in each project, his students were able to progress more rapidly towards independence in design conceptions. Mr. Tsuyuki presents eleven basic projects in this book, each one designed to teach the use of certain tools and types of waxes in a progressive manner as one's skills improve. Each step of every project is accompanied by photo/text and in some cases supplementary sketches and notes are provided.'' This was originally published in Japan in 1985.
