Reviews
Gr. 4^-8. Call this a novelty item, but kids will probably love it. The only problem is where will libraries shelve it? It is a book that's a record 18 inches tall, an appropriate length when the topic is basketball stars. It contains 50 profiles of basketball's best, everyone from Michael to Kareem to Larry to Magic. Each two-page spread features action shots, a page or so of text, and a box of stats. Care has been taken to make the look of the book as exciting as the sport, and it is. Besides an introduction to the players, there are sections on coaches, women players, and "characters" like the "Worm," Dennis Rodman. Ilene Cooper
