Bath and West Books is owned by Jo West and based in private premises on the outskirts of the beautiful heritage city of Bath, Somerset. I have been buying and selling rare, collectable and secondhand books since 2003. I accept most forms of payment including credit and debit cards, bank transfer, Paypal, and cash on collection. I buy and sell books on a wide variety of subjects from Astrology to Zoology. I'm especially interested in purchasing Fine Press books, Folio Society books, fine leather bindings and decorative cloth bindings. Important Note for U.S. BUYERS: From 29 August 2025, all shipments to the U.S.A. are subject to customs processing, however, PRINTED BOOKS REMAIN DUTY FREE under U.S. law. Ephemera, posters and other informational materials are also exempt.
I now use DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) services so if duty is ever mistakenly charged IT WILL BE CHARGED TO ME and NOT TO THE BUYER.
I provide accurate customs forms to minimise delays but delivery times may be slightly longer due to customs clearance.
All orders are posted within 1-3 business days and are securely and professionally packaged, with tracking and full insurance. Our postage prices reflect the cost of this high quality service which protects both buyer and seller as well as our precious books.
Default postage costs are based on orders weighing up to 2.2 lbs, or 1 kg (book + packaging materials). If your book order is heavy/oversized we may contact you to let you know an additional postage charge is necessary. We will also request extra payment to cover insurance costs for high value orders. We will never take payment until extra costs have been agreed by you.
