Batissimo

Batissimo is a loveable bat from the Catskills that learns the important lessons of friendship, compassion, and teamwork through his adventures. Broken up into three stories, the fuzzy, winged protagonist initially finds himself in trouble and must rely on loving new friends to help him get out of it. After learning the value of friendship, the second story finds Batissimo by the side of a dying deer in a surprisingly touching story that teaches the lessons of compassion and mutual love for one another. Finally, in his third adventure, Batissimo must team up with a filthy city rat to solve a problem that can only be fixed through mutual respect, companionship, and the triumph over adversity. A perfect mix of humor and drama, this collection of stories by Nuno S. G. Fernandes offers wonderful examples of the important lessons children must learn in life.

Born in Portugal in 1970, Nuno S. G. Fernandes moved to New York City in the early 1990s. He is a trustee at the Town School in Manhattan and at the Mary McDowell Friends School in Brooklyn.
