Gwen Fisher earned her MA in Mathematics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a PhD in Mathematics Education from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She was an Associate Professor of Mathematics at California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, specializing in the mathematical education of teachers. There, she wrote and taught a full course on mathematics and visual art. Around that time, in 2005, she began weaving beads. Soon thereafter, she started writing about her discoveries. She has served as an editor and reviewer academic journals and conferences and has published academic papers on mathematical bead weaving, felting, quilting, and mathematical art. Roger Antonsen was an Associate Professor in the Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo, Norway, where he was a member of the research group Analytical Solutions and Reasoning. He was also affiliated with the research group Logic and Intelligent Data (LogID). In addition, Roger served as a Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley, California. He earned his PhD in computer science, specializing in mathematical logic, automated reasoning, and proof theory.
Roger's academic interests spanned several fields, including cellular automata, logical calculi, proof theory, mathematical logic, complexity theory, combinatorics, and the philosophy of mathematics.
