Original illustrated orange wrappers, fine condition with short tear at the base of the spine. 24 pp. An early and scarce work on croquet by Routledge, who also published another book on croquet in the same year. Published by Beadle & Co., 118 William St. This copy appears to vary somewhat from the AAS copy (AAS 59242) as it does not have, nor appear to have had, 4 pages of ads at the back. The text on the wrappers also appears to be completely different. For example, the back wrapper contains a list of Speakers and Dialogues, not and ad for Martelle, the new summer game. Johannsen (House of Beadle & Adams) vol. 1, p.277, #14.
