Bear -- (Creatures of the Wild Series)

Book by Mallard, Ann, Rue, Leonard Lee

Bear, one of the five titles in the Creatures of the Wild series, focuses on what may be North America's most awe-inspiring animals. Recognized for their incredible strength and surprising agility, these enormous creatures have played a powerful role in the beliefs of many Native American cultures, shaping countless myths, legends, and folk tales throughout the ages.

While the majority of the world's bear population exists in Canada and the Alaskan frontier, Bear uses well-researched text and beautiful full-color photos to examine the vast territory these incredible creatures roam, from the Arctic ice pack to the high chaparral of northern Mexico.
