From Beast-Machine to Man-Machine : Animal Soul in French Letters from Descartes to La Mettrie

New and enlarged edition. This is an ex-library book with usual paste-downs and stamps to the end papers, and a stamp upper and lower closed page edge. Bound in red cloth with gilt title on spine, gilt emblem on the front, cloth clean and bright, light wear at spine head and corner tips, library sticker on the spine (removable) and also letters written white at the spine foot, otherwise robust and square. Hinge firm, pages smooth and clean, beginning to darken towards the page edges. One or two incidents of light pencil underlining of text. A good solid copy of a rare book.
