Burt reprint (copyright page shows the original McClurg edition date of 1916, but Zeuschner correctly identifies the first Burt reprint date as 1917) hardcover, bound in green cloth, with once-white lettering (mostly worn off), is in POOR condition, having much wear to front covers and spine, with some small stains, fraying to edges, bumped and worn corners (see photos); shaking to volume (front cover partially detached, back cover starting); pages from the front to page 9 are barely hanging by threads; staining to first endpaper section, and throughout text there are occasional stains/smudges and evidence of much handling wear; frontispiece illus. has a tear on edge.
