No title page with the first page printed PART 1 and the verso has a ink stamp that says This Page is Blank Page 2 and Job Number followed by a line, on which is written 435 . The text starts on the next page with Chapter 1 . Proof marks on each of the 246 pages. There is slight discoloration on the soft cover binding and overall the book is in near fine condition. Bruce Alexander Cook (1932 2003) was an American journalist and author who also wrote under the pseudonym Bruce Alexander , creating historical novels about a blind 18th-century Englishman and also a 20th-century Mexican-American detective. He had been an editor with USA Today ; The Detroit News ; the Los Angeles Daily News and then a senior editor at Newsweek . This non-fiction work, an objective analysis of this counterculture movement, was his first book which was then followed by a number of novels.
