Small 8vo, pp xii, 311, [1], bound in slightly later neat half calf, spine gilt ruled with raised bands and black label, a little rubbed and with slight wear at head but a very good sound, clean copy, FIRST EDITION, one of the classic 18th Century anthologies of poetry and prose, compiled from the anti-radical articals printed in the 'Anti-Jacobin' between 1797 and 1798. The brilliant intellectual wit of Canning and his associates made this a much reprinted volume, this a charming copy of the first.
