Beautiful Boxes to Create, Cover and Decorate (Milner Craft Series) Newman, Judy

"Beautiful Boxes" is a collection of easy-to-make boxes. With a few basic materials - cardboard, paper, fabric, paint, recycled boxes and basic balsa boxes - Judy Newman demonstrates that it is possible to create a stunning array of boxes. There are boxes of all shapes and sizes, and they can be put to all sorts of uses. Not only are there stylishly decorated gift boxes, there are hat boxes that provide an elegant storage solution, lacquered boxes, boxes decorated with cut-out bows, beads, cutwork; there's a padded jewellery box, an exquisite patchwork sewing box with a matching pincushion set, a stationery set, a desk set. Newman gives the reader the basic skills so she or he can experiment and make boxes of their own. Each box is shown in colour, and step-by-step instructions for making them are given.
