1987, 1989. 261pp., 263pp. paperbacks: Very Good [Bedlam is in near Fine condition with some light age browning of text; Task Force is near Very Good with a spine crease and some age browning of text; all in all, two nice copies] Two comic novels, the second a sequel, about a hostile British government's attempts to abolish the ancient status of the Channel Islands by incorporating them into the County of Hampshire. An amusing cast of retired military buffers and their wives informed by the pseudonymous author's long experience of high command in both the RAF and as the Queen's Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey, his birthplace. Sir Peter de Lacey Cheminant (1920-2018) who served for 41 years in the RAF, adopted the pseudonym for these novels.
