A set of five volumes of collected illustrations.Majority of the works are first editions, with the exception of 'You Have Been Warned' (fifth edition) and 'The Luck of the Draw' (second edition).Three volumes complete with their scarce original dust wrapper, 'The Luck of the Draw' and 'Family Group' being price-clipped.Cyril Kenneth Bird (known better under the pen name Fougasse) was one of the best known cartoonists of the time, notable for his work in Punch magazine as well as World War II warning propaganda posters and posters for the London Underground.Each of these books offers a special selection of his illustrations, collected here for humorous reading.Includes the following:'You Have Been Warned''The Luck of the Draw' 'Drawing the Line Somewhere''Stop or Go' 'Family Group' In the original cloth binding. 'Luck of the Draw', 'Family Group' and 'You Have Been Warned' complete with the original dust wrapper, the first two being price-clipped. Externally, smart, with fading to the spines of 'Stop' and 'Drawing the Line' as well as to the spine head and tail of 'Luck of the Draw' and 'You Have Been Warned'. With slight cocking to the spines and mild shelf wear. Dust wrappers are edge worn and sunned to the spines, most notably to 'Family Group'. With chips to the spine head of 'Luck' and 'Warned'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with offsetting to the endpapers of 'Stop' and 'Luck'. Minor tide mark to the front free endpaper of 'Family'. Very Good.
