Before the Beginning: A Conversation with God

In a fictional account, author Tom Winstead chronicles a heartwarming and thought-provoking narrative of a conversation he had with God about the beginning of the universe.

"What made you want me in Heaven after I turned away?"

"Why did you create man?"

"How can you keep forgiving?"

On a lazy day in heaven, Tom talks with God on many different topics. The contemplative conversation sheds light on so many human questions we ask but can't get an answer from God - until now.

Join Tom on his heavenly discourse with God and the disciples as universe-level questions bounce around the clouds, answers provide insight to the nature of existence, and a man in heaven gets a little better understanding of the great WHYs of the world.

The fictional bend of Before the Beginning provides more than an engaging narrative to the book; it provides an outlet for an evocative desire for many: how to build a close, personal relationship with God. Through narration and conversation (rather than a how-to like many other books), Tom creates a space for readers to reflect on their current relationship with God and identify how it can be deeper and more fulfilling.

Written for believers and non-church goers alike, Before the Beginning reads like a car-ride conversation with an old friend. From start to finish, the novel invites readers to think about existence, faith, mortality, and the beginning of the world.
