Before the Devil Ever Met me: She was surviving before she understood what survival meant. (THE Survival Files: The Devil Didn’t Win Collection)

Before the Devil Ever Met Me is not a pretty story wrapped in perfect words.
It’s raw. Honest. Heavy.

Before the healing.
Before the survival mode.
Before the walls, anger, detachment, and silence…
there was a little girl trying to understand pain she never deserved.

In this deeply personal memoir, Summer B opens the door to the parts of her life people never saw — father wounds, abandonment, trauma, emotional survival, toxic cycles, and the quiet ways pain can shape a person long before adulthood ever begins.

But this is not just a story about brokenness.
It’s about surviving what was meant to destroy you.

With gritty honesty, emotional reflection, and moments of softness in the middle of chaos, Before the Devil Ever Met Me explores what it means to heal your inner child, confront generational pain, rediscover faith, and choose freedom even after life tried to harden you.

This book is for the people who grew up too fast.
For the ones who learned survival before love.
For the little girls who had to become strong long before they were supposed to.

And most importantly—
for anyone trying to find themselves again after everything they survived.
