Before He Forgets: When memory fails, the house remembers.

When Gabriel Vale murmurs over breakfast, “I should have killed him when I had the chance,” Elin returns to the family home believing she is there to help care for a father losing his memory. But Vale House is a place where nothing is ever simply forgotten.

Her brother Daniel manages every detail with unnerving calm. Her mother Marianne turns each incident into a symptom. And Gabriel’s drifting fragments of confusion begin to sound less like delusion than warning.

As Elin is drawn back into the rhythms of the house—and into the secrets that shaped her family—she begins to suspect that someone is using memory loss as cover. In Vale House, truth erodes quietly, loyalty is demanded, and the most dangerous thing of all may be what Gabriel still remembers.

A haunting psychological thriller about family, control, and the stories we bury to survive.
