Author Dr. Paul Friesen poses 21 questions dealing with Convictions, Character, Compatibility, and Chemistry to help couples confirm their decision to move toward marriage. This practical, biblically–based book is easy to read, yet deep enough to be thought–provoking and useful in confirming one of life’s most critical decisions.

Dr. Paul Friesen has been married for 33 years to his wife, Virginia, and they are the parents of three young adult girls, the eldest of whom was married in February 2007. Paul and Virginia are the founders of Home Improvement Ministries, a non-profit organization dedicated to equipping individuals and churches to better encourage marriages and families in living out God's design for healthy relationships.

Paul writes, teaches, and counsels. He and Virginia regularly speak together at marriage, men's, and women's conferences across the country, as well as at family and parenting seminars. The Friesens are (with four others) co-authors of the book Restoring the Fallen published by InterVarsity Press. In 2006, Home Improvement Ministries published Paul's book Letters to My Daughters, and his book So You Want to Marry My Daughter? in 2007. Together with his wife, he has also written a daily marriage devotional guide, In Our Image: Marriage as a Reflection of the Godhead, published in 2008.

Each summer, the Friesens travel to California to serve as program directors for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship's Campus by the Sea family camp programs.

Paul has a doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy and a master's degree in Family Ministry, both from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Before founding Home Improvement Ministries in 2003, he was on staff at Grace Chapel in Lexington, Massachusetts, where he served as the Director of Men's and Family Ministries.
