No date of publication given; probably published around the 1920a. Paper-covered boards; illustration and titles on front board; advertisement on rear. Monochrome illustrations in the text; full-page illustration of microscope as frontispiece. Advertisements on endpapers at front and rear. Boards soiled in places; heavily worn along edges with loss at head and tail of spine. Pencil bookseller's annotations on front endpaper. Pages almost entirely clean; small stains to lower margin of a few pages at rear. Binding firm.
