Mary Kay Seales was born and raised on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State in an Irish-Catholic family of five. Many summers were spent camping in the forests and along the shorelines of the beautiful and wild Olympic Peninsula. Though she has traveled extensively, she is always hungry for home and the Pacific Northwest with its evergreen forests, salt sea air and fresh cool beaches. She teaches at the University of Washington in Seattle, and also works as a freelance travel and copywriter. This is the second book in her Beginner's Guide series of travel books.
