In The Beginning: Genesis Chapter 1 Commentary & Study

“In The Beginning” is a verse-by-verse commentary and study of Genesis chapter 1. This book goes into great detail, examining each verse of Genesis chapter 1 using the principles of biblical hermeneutics. The main principle used in this book is the principle of scripture interpreting scripture. By acknowledging Moses as the author and his intended audience as the children of Israel, this book explores the contextual message Moses conveyed to his audience.

In Genesis chapter 1, Moses wrote in symbolic language using the framework of seven days to narrate the history of Israel’s salvation. Each of the seven days represented a significant event that took place during Israel’s journey from Egypt to Mount Sinai. Once Moses and the Israelites made it to Mount Sinai, God made a Covenant with Her and instructed Moses to build a house so He could dwell with Her. The events described by Moses during the seven days formed the basis for all biblical teachings found in the Old and New Testament scriptures. Doctrines such as the doctrine of salvation, the doctrine of resurrection, and the doctrine of eschatology (the study of end-time prophecies) find their origins in Genesis chapter 1 and the book of Exodus.

This book is a must-read for anyone who is seeking a deeper understanding of Genesis Chapter 1 and the profound role it plays as the foundation for the rest of the Bible.
