Synopsis:

Transform your most challenging students into engaged learners with this proven, evidence-based behavior intervention system trusted by thousands of educators nationwide.

Written by a board-certified behavior analyst and Harvard Medical School child psychiatrist, The Behavior Code provides teachers, counselors, and parents with the breakthrough FAIR Behavior Intervention Plan―a systematic, compassionate approach to understanding and addressing the most difficult classroom behaviors. Whether you're dealing with anxious, withdrawn, oppositional, or disruptive students, this practical guide moves you from reactive discipline to proactive support, helping you decode the messages behind challenging behaviors and respond with targeted strategies that actually work. Drawing on cutting-edge research in cognitive science and educational psychology, the authors demonstrate how all behavior is communication, giving you the tools to build stronger teacher-student relationships while creating calmer, more productive learning environments for all students.

  • The Complete FAIR Framework: Step-by-step system to identify Function, implement Accommodations, develop Interaction strategies, and create Response plans for lasting behavior change
  • Real Classroom Solutions: Proven techniques for managing students with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, trauma responses, and other special education needs
  • Practical Implementation Tools: Ready-to-use worksheets, case studies, data collection methods, and assessment strategies you can apply immediately
  • Evidence-Based Approach: Combines behavioral analysis expertise with child psychiatry insights, backed by years of successful implementation in diverse school settings
  • Reduces School Discipline Issues: Transforms oppositional behavior through understanding rather than punishment, decreasing suspensions and improving academic outcomes

Stop struggling with challenging student behavior―start implementing these game-changing strategies today and watch your most difficult students become your greatest success stories.
