It discusses various topics such as overcrowding, undertrial detention, and human rights violations alongside the e-Prisons project that utilizes Al, blockchain, and lot in the rehabilitation process. The mental health and general well-being of the prisoners, as well as the possibilities of tech revolution in Indian correctional facilities, are among the things the book talks about. The use of case studies and expert analysis gives the reader an understanding of the difficulties modernizing the prison system while making sure that human dignity and rights are respected. Key Themes - Crisis Overview: Details 120-131% occupancy rates, judicial backlogs affecting 73-76% undertrials, and vulnerabilities for SC/ST/OBC inmates, women, and mentally ill prisoners. Additionally, the report underscores the urgent need for reforms in the criminal justice system to address these issues effectively. - Digital Revolution: Covers e-Prisons modules like PIMS, ICJS linkage, Al predictive analytics, blockchain for data security, and telemedicine integration. The integration of digital technologies presents an opportunity to improve efficiency, transparency, and access to healthcare services for inmates. - Human Transformation: Explores staff training, prisoner education, skill development, open prisons, and post-release reintegration roadmaps to 2035. The key themes discussed in the input highlight the challenges faced by the prison system in terms of overcrowding, backlogs, and vulnerabilities among certain inmate populations. The proposed solutions include leveraging digital technologies and focusing on human transformation through education, training, and reintegration programs.
