Behind The Broken Tapestry (Paperback or Softback)

The thread was never meant to be cut. But it was. And now someone must decide whether to let it fray, or pull it back together.

Asim Qureshi's The Loomed Legends Part II: Behind the Broken Tapestry continues the literary saga begun with The Forgotten Tapestry, returning to the interconnected worlds of South Asia and its diaspora-Lahore, Lucknow, New Delhi, Karachi, Mumbai, Islamabad, and Dubai-where history is never truly past, and the personal is never entirely separate from the political.

Where Part I asked what happens when buried histories surface, Part II asks the harder question: what do we do with what we find?

At the centre of the novel are two fashion entrepreneurs whose partnership-professional, personal, and now irreversibly complicated-must survive the full weight of what has been uncovered. Long-buried family histories, unresolved political fractures, and the fault line between two nations now press against everything they have built together.

The tapestry, once forgotten, has been found. But found does not mean restored. Behind it lies something more difficult than memory: the truth of what was lost, and the reckoning of what it means to live with that loss.

Fashion remains the novel's guiding metaphor-patterns, looms, and the painstaking craft of restoration-but in Part II, restoration is no longer theoretical. It is urgent, contested, and deeply human. The question is no longer whether the tapestry can be repaired. The question is whether the people holding the threads can bear what repair demands of them.

Behind the Broken Tapestry is a novel about inheritance and consequence, about love that refuses the borders drawn around it, and about the possibility-fragile, radical, and stubbornly alive-that two worlds might yet make something whole.

What happens when the truth that has been uncovered cannot be undone?
