Behind Closed Eyelids

Elara Vance hasn't slept in three months. Every night, the Shadow comes-a tall, faceless figure that stands in the corner of her room and watches. The doctors call it sleep paralysis. Her colleagues call it burnout. But Elara knows the truth: the Shadow isn't a hallucination. He's a memory. A memory she buried so deep it took on a life of its own.

Desperate and broken, Elara turns to Dr. Aris Thorne, a charismatic sleep specialist who offers an experimental cure: the Oneiros Link, a device that promises dreamless sleep. For the first time in months, she closes her eyes without fear.

But the device doesn't just silence her nightmares-it resurrects her past. A red ball appears in her apartment, carved with the initials of her brother Julian, who vanished ten years ago. Muddy footprints materialize on her kitchen floor. A mysterious texter warns her: *Thorne doesn't cure nightmares. He feeds them.*

As Elara digs into her repressed memories, she uncovers a horrifying truth: Julian didn't run away. He was taken. And Thorne has been watching her ever since-waiting for her to remember, waiting for her to break, waiting to complete an experiment that will leave her mind empty and her soul forfeit.

Now Elara must confront the monster she's been running from-and the one she's been hiding from herself.

Wind Amiras writes psychological and literary fiction that explores identity, love, grief, and the subtle ways people shape each other over time. Spanning thriller, horror, and mystery, his stories circle around a deceptively simple question: what does it truly mean to know someone - or even yourself - in a world where who we are can quietly shift, fracture, or be rewritten?

He is drawn to the dark edges of human experience - the fears we don't name, the secrets we bury, and the unsettling feeling that something, just beneath the surface, is not quite right.

Beyond fiction, Wind writes on lifestyle, health, and personal growth, translating complex ideas into accessible insights through eBooks and articles.

Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, he is an entrepreneur whose work has always required the same instinct that drives his fiction: the habit of looking beneath the surface and asking why. That curiosity - precise, patient, resistant to easy answers - shapes everything he writes.

Deliberate. Layered. Always reaching for something truer.
