Being Smart Is Stupid: Why Embracing the Wisdom of Your Buddha Nature is the Secret to Great Leadership

What if everything you've been told about leadership is wrong?

In our hyper-competitive world, we've been conditioned to believe that raw intelligence, relentless optimization, and strategic manipulation are the keys to great leadership. But look around—from toxic tech CEOs to burned-out executives—this "smart" approach is leaving a trail of dysfunction, high turnover, and personal suffering.

There's a better way.

Drawing from decades of experience as a director, entrepreneur, and Buddhist practitioner, Tricia Brouk reveals how the world's most effective leaders succeed not by being the smartest person in the room, but by embracing their Buddha nature—the innate wisdom that transcends ego-driven leadership.

Through compelling stories of leaders like Winston Churchill, Indra Nooyi, and Satya Nadella, plus practical frameworks you can implement immediately, Being Smart Is Stupid will teach you how to:

• Get still and respond rather than react

• Transform performative gratitude into genuine connection

• Make wise decisions even with incomplete information

• Liberate yourself from fear-based leadership

• Build unshakeable trust and relationship capital

Whether you're leading a startup, managing a team, or running a Fortune 500 company, this book offers a revolutionary path to sustainable success—one that creates value not just for you, but for everyone whose lives you touch.

Stop being smart. Start being wise.
