Kupferstich, alt grenzkoloriert. Historische Landkarte, von Johann Baptist Homann. 48,9 x 56,8 cm (Darstellung / Platte), 51,5 x 58,5 cm (Blatt).Blatt angeschmutzt und fingerfleckig und mit hinterlegten größeren Fehlstellen im oberen rechten und linken Rand. Zudem hinterlegter Einriss (circa 7 cm) im oberen Rand. Insgesamt mäßiger Zustand.Johann Baptist Homann (1664 Oberkammlach - 1724 Nürnberg). Deutscher Kartograph, Verleger und Kupferstecher. Gründete 1702 seinen Verlag in Nürnberg. Lieferte etwa 200 Karten, darunter 1716 den 'Großen Atlas über die ganze Welt' und 1719 den 'Atlas methodicus'. Fertigte auch Armillarsphären und andere mechanische Kunstwerke. Homann wurde mit seinen qualitätsvollen, aber preiswerten Drucken der bedeutendste Herausgeber von Landkarten und Atlanten in Deutschland. 1715 wurde er Mitglied der Königlichen Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Berlin und Kaiserlicher Geograf am Hof Karls VI. Der Verlag wurde von seinem Sohn Johann Christoph Homann weitergeführt. Figürliche Titelkartusche links oben mit Verlegeradresse. 2 Insetkarten, einmal vom Nordosten der USA mit einer Ansicht von Neu Amsterdam (New York) und von Südostasien mit einer Ansicht von Batavia (Jakarta). Am rechten Rand 2 Meilenzeiger / Maßstäbe. 48,9 x 56,8 cm (Darstellung / Platte), 51,5 x 58,5 cm (Blatt). Seller Inventory # 00115638
