Since 1857, the fine Irish porcelain known as Belleek has been prized by collectors worldwide. This volume, written by the American founder of the International Belleek Collectors' Society, is a revised and expanded edition of his 1978 classic. In addition to providing a complete history of the firm, Degenhardt has painstakingly compiled a well-illustrated gallery of the company's output with photos of museum pieces as well as those in private collections. Included, too, are reproductions of the rare 1904 and 1928 catalogs, collectors' items in their own right, which illustrate the company's less-well-documented early wares. The book also contains such useful information as a complete listing of makers' marks and a price guide. It seems to be the most comprehensive survey available, destined to become a bible in its field. Highly recommended for all art libraries and most public libraries.
