Benben possesses a contemplative, philosophical nature that allows him to find contentment in the present moment. He approaches life with a quiet mindfulness that others sometimes mistake for aloofness. While generally even-tempered, he can become stubborn when his routines are disrupted. He tends to observe rather than participate, processing the world through careful reflection rather than immediate reaction.

MOTIVATIONS: Benben is motivated by a desire for inner peace and simplicity. He seeks to understand himself and his place in the world without becoming entangled in unnecessary complications. Food and other sensory experiences ground him and provide touchstones of pleasure. He's driven more by curiosity about life's small wonders than by ambition or external validation.

INTERNAL CONFLICT: Despite his outward tranquility, Benben struggles with whether his contentment is genuine wisdom or merely avoidance of deeper engagement. Nanda Roep is a Dutch children's author and publisher, best known as the creator of the Plaza Patatta series and Pompom & The Circle of Feelings. She writes stories that encourage children to discover the joy of reading through humour, adventure, and imagination. Alongside writing, she develops educational and creative projects that inspire young readers and families. Her books are published in both Dutch and English. Nanda lives and works in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.
