The law is serious work. It carries consequences, responsibility, and no small amount of gravity. But within its solemn walls, there are also human moments—glances, gestures, raised eyebrows, and the quiet absurdities that remind us we are all doing our best in a very imperfect world.

These illustrations are a lighthearted diversion drawn from the rhythms of the courtroom—the objections, the sidebars, the long afternoons, and the unforgettable personalities who bring the system to life. They are not meant to diminish the work, but to celebrate it.

If they bring you a smile between arguments, a chuckle during deliberations, or a knowing laugh at the end of a long day, then they have done their job.

And I will confess to one quiet ambition:

I look forward to the day I walk into a courtroom and see a copy of this booklet resting on every juror’s chair—offered as a simple “Thank You” from the Bench.

Enjoy the diversion.
