Beneath the Willow Tree

Amelia Bray has a secret. After her father's brutal murder during her senior year of high school, she swore she'd move on and learn to live without him. But how can anyone expect her to recover from the death of the person who loved her more than he loved life itself? But conducting an investigation alone and in grief is all but impossible... and that's where he came in.

Mason Hale is everything Amelia shouldn't want. He's cocky and unperturbed, can read her like a book even when her walls are built as high as possible, and knows all the ways to push her buttons. Not to mention, he's the son of the man Amelia knows is responsible for the hit that got her father killed. But despite all her reservations, she can't deny that two sets of eyes are better than one... and Mason's eyes are hard to deny. As their partnership progresses, Amelia and Mason can't deny their chemistry, though their traumas and fears may be the very thing that makes it impossible for them to be anything more than peers.

Through multiple timelines and dual perspectives, Amelia and Mason must face the ugly truths of life, loss, and love while asking themselves the age-old question: Is vengeance worth it if you risk everything you love?

Avid reader, creative, and bibliophile, Emma Rodriguez has a passion for words. She has spent most of her life studying words and how they can be used to convey a particular message to an audience She has a Bachelor's in Technical Communication at the University of Central Florida and she graduated with high honors and on the President's List. She has been writing her feelings into stories ever since she was a child. There's no wonder it's what she does for a living now.Emma Rodriguez is the kind of woman who looks like she could kill you and probably could if she wasn't so tired all the time. Her favorite thing to do is write stories that readers fall in love with, only to take everything good away from them in the worst possible way (and no, she's not sorry). On top of being an audience traumatizer, Emma is also a wife and native Floridian. She is an avid animal rights activist passionate about destigmatizing the world's most ostracized animals. She is a constant advocate for disability awareness, especially often invisible disabilities like the one she has, Ehler's Danlos Syndrome. She is a classically trained pianist, a hobby vocalist, and a lover of all thing's theatre and film. Her other talents include being able to eat an entire bag of cheddar sun chips in one sitting, choking on Lifesaver's candy, and being the 'blunt and unintentionally hilarious' friend. So, while she tends to write emotionally distressing novels, she's just as likely to make you laugh as she is to make you cry.
