Berashith: Or The First Book Of Moses, Called Genesis (1740)

Berashith, also known as The First Book of Moses, Called Genesis, is a religious text that was first published in 1740 by John Lookup. This book is a translation of the first book of the Hebrew Bible, which tells the story of the creation of the world, the first humans, and the early history of humanity. The book is divided into 50 chapters and begins with the story of God creating the world in six days. It then goes on to describe the creation of Adam and Eve, their fall from grace, and the subsequent generations of humanity, including Cain and Abel, Noah and the Great Flood, and the Tower of Babel. Throughout the book, Lookup provides commentary and explanations of the text, drawing on his knowledge of Hebrew and ancient Near Eastern cultures. He also includes references to other biblical texts, such as the Psalms and the Prophets, to provide a deeper understanding of the text. Berashith is an important religious text for both Jews and Christians, and has been studied and interpreted for centuries. Lookup's translation and commentary provide a valuable resource for those seeking to understand the meaning and significance of this foundational text. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
