Bereshit: How the Beginning: The Pattern of God Revealed in Scripture

Product Description

For centuries, Genesis 1:1 has been read as a timestamp.

Before God formed the heavens…

Before the foundations of the earth…

His purpose for redemption was already established.

“In the beginning” tells us where the biblical story opens. But what does that beginning reveal about the God who authored it?

In Bereshit: How the Beginning, Alexis A Ramos explores the opening of Scripture as an introduction to the patterns that unfold throughout God’s Word. Through Hebrew word studies, biblical typology, and connections between creation and redemption, he traces a movement that shapes the book’s central framework:

Bara • Asah • Yatsar

Initiation • Formation • Completion

From Genesis to the Temple, from covenant to salvation, this study invites readers to examine how the beginning anticipates what follows—and how God’s purposes connect the whole story of Scripture.

Written for curious readers, Bible students, and teachers, Bereshit challenges us to look more closely at familiar words and consider the depth of what God reveals through them.

The beginning introduces the story.

The pattern unfolds throughout Scripture.

The purpose leads us back to God.
