Those same skills now shape his approach to storytelling: clear, genuine, and always encouraging.J R believes children learn best when they feel loved and seen. His books speak to that belief; blending humor, warmth, and gentle lessons that reach kids right where they are, while offering grown-ups a few smiles of recognition too.He makes his home in Naples, Florida, and often travels to California to visit his grandchildren - his first readers and biggest fans. They are the lucky ones who get to see new books before anyone else, and they've helped inspire many of his favorite moments in the series. To them, he's just "Pop Pop", the one who writes "the fun books."To everyone else, he's a storyteller who still believes the world is full of good; and that every child deserves to see it that way.You can reach J R at jrphilp@thebestofbooks.com
