God’s love can feel impersonal at times, but as we learn to let God love us by allowing Him to meet our needs, we see Him interacting with us in our specific circumstances. We start to recognize the ways that He demonstrates His love for us as individuals as we bring our needy hearts to Him through the lives of Bible characters like Paul, John, and Hosea’s Gomer. When we trust God and turn to Him for help, we can enjoy a two-way blessing: We feel like God’s favorite—His best friend—and we know that God feels loved by us.
