Synopsis
In his new book, Your Best Investment: Secrets to a Healthy Body and Mind, Dr. Edwin Lee reveals several truths behind obesity, high blood pressure, infertility, autoimmune disease, memory loss, heart disease, stroke, cancer and diabetes. Dr. Lee then explores the common link shared by all these health concerns: high insulin levels. His book also features a nutrition plan with recipes. Based on numerous medical studies, Dr. Lee’s comprehensive nutrition plan includes recipes - created specifically for his innovative, two-phase meal guide - by nutritionists Alison Gordon and Laura Gavin. “There is a growing rift between those who let society tell them what to eat and how to live, and those who decide for themselves what they should be eating for their optimal nutrition and better health. My book educates readers on how best to make those all-important decisions,” says Dr. Lee. Dr. Mark Houston, Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical School, had this to say: “Dr. Lee will forever change your perception of how simple applications of optimal nutrition can transform your life. This is the diet book that you definitely need to embrace and fully understand.” The foreword for Your Best Investment was written by Dr. Mark Gordon, Medical Director for CBS Studios and Millennium Health Centers. Gordon says, “He (Dr. Lee) steers you toward synergistically achieving a healthy body internally, and an attractive body externally. It is a definite win/win. Plus, the recipes are delicious!” As a respected proponent and authority on hormonal balance and wellness, and as a leader in defining the future of regenerative and functional medicine, Dr. Lee has spoken at major medical conferences around the world. Being board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism (with special courses in Regenerative and Functional Medicine), Dr. Lee knows all sides of the arguments about: adrenal fatigue, the use of T3 treatment in thyroid patients, the use of DHEA, the use of testosterone, the use of progesterone (aside from pregnancy), and the use of growth hormone - to name a few. Being one of the country's most progressive endocrinologists, Dr. Lee treats patients traveling to his office (The Institute for Hormonal Balance, DrEdwinLee.com) from around the world, while also serving as the assistant professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. In September 2010, Dr. Lee wrote Feel Good Look Younger: Reversing Tiredness Through Hormonal Balance. It is also available from Amazon.

Dr. Lee graduated from Medical College of Pennsylvania, completed three years of Internal Medicine residency and then completed two fellowships - in Critical Care Medicine and in Endocrinology and Metabolism - at the University of Pittsburgh. He also served as the Team Endocrinologist for the Cleveland Indians during their spring training in Florida. In addition to writing his books, Feel Good Look Younger: Reversing Tiredness Through Hormonal Balance and Your Best Investment: Secrets to a Healthy Body and Mind, Dr. Lee has published many articles on internal medicine and on endocrinology. He was also an author in the fourth edition of Textbook of Critical Care in the chapter entitled, Neuroendocrine Immunology and the Role of Neuroendocrine Hormones in the Critically Ill Patient.
