Best of Rancid for Bass (Play It Like It Is)

Best of Rancid for Bass is a bass songbook featuring 15 songs by punk rock band Rancid, transcribed note for note for bassists who want to learn, practice, and perform the band's distinctive bass parts. Part of the Play It Like It Is Bass series, this collection brings together music from across Rancid's catalog in a focused format for bass players and fans.

The book contains bass transcriptions with TAB, giving players a direct written reference for each featured song. The selection spans driving punk anthems, melodic bass lines, and distinctive rhythmic parts, with material including Time Bomb, Maxwell Murder, Roots Radicals, Fall Back Down, Life Won't Wait, and Journey To The End Of The East Bay.

Working from note-for-note transcriptions can help a bassist study how individual lines interact with the songs, from rhythmic movement and transitions to melodic details and recurring figures. Having 15 Rancid tracks collected in one volume also makes it easy to move between songs during personal practice, band rehearsal, or preparation for performance while keeping the original bass material at the center of the experience.
