In 2018, after experiencing the deaths of two family members and a close friend, I wondered if my recent years were just bad, or if I needed a better perspective. As a music producer, I am able to express my emotions through composing. After hearing a few beats that sounded similar, my wife suggested that I release them as an instrumental project. While driving, the project title "Have a Better Year" came to mind. I knew this concept deserved more, so I wrote my past years' experiences as a devotional and used the music track titles to supplement the devotions like a score. What emerged was a unique project - a musical project accompanying a 7-day devotional geared to help you change your perspective.
