George Lepp is an independent, professional photographer always pursuing his loves of outdoor/nature photo subjects (25 years). He thrives on the challenges of capturing on film the images he sees and on sharing his knowledge through seminars and his writing. He has worked on numerous projects throughout the US as well as Baja California, Antarctica, Galapagos, Mexico (monarch butterflies) and parts of Canada.
Mr. Lepp's formal education includes three years of university studies in the field of wildlife biology. He continued his studies at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in professional photography in 1972. In the years since, Mr. Lepp has lectured and conducted seminars on outdoor photography and the digital darkroom in many of the major cities of the US and Candada. His stock and assignment photography is represented by Tony Stone Images, Corbis, Natural Selection and Photo Researchers.
Mr. Lepp has been published extensively in both magazines and books. Other books authored and photo-illustrated include Bonneville Salt Flats, Vintage Car Racing, Beyond the Basics II; Cannibal Soup was photo-illustrated only; Canon Lenses was co-authored and co-illustrated. Geroge Lepp also serves as the field editor for Outdoor Photographer magazine, wherein he writes monthly features and the column "Tech Tips" and for PCPhoto magazine. The Natural Image is a journal for nature photographers authored and published by Mr. Lepp.
