Beyond Light: American Landscapes

Presented here are selected masterpieces from more than three decades of black-and-white landscape photography by Californian photographer Robert Werling. The quality of Werling's prints and the perfection he achieves in the darkroom have earned him a reputation -far beyond the borders of the United States - as an exponent of superior technical precision in the tradition of, American landscape photography. He uses black-and-white photography as the medium best suited to the expression of his art, and believes in the integrity of the hand-crafted gelatin silver fine printing process.

His award-winning photography is represented in the collections of major museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the International Center of Photography, all in New York, and The Huntington Library, San Marino, California.
