Beyond Myth: The Creation Series, Volume One: The Genesis Account: How God Artfully (But Not Scientifically) Created the Heavens and the Earth and Commissioned Humanity to Rule on His Behalf

In Beyond Myth, readers travel deep into Isreal's ancient faith. There Genesis is examined through a two-panel, three-paired days framework. Out of it emerges the surprising theme that humanity has been appointed rulers over the created order. Three interpretive tools underscore this study. Those tools and the two-panel framework not only unlock the Genesis author's message, but they make Beyond Myth an ideal read for collaborative study groups. This book is unlike any on the market today. From a college student seeking to understand Genesis, to a parent of teens whose questions on science versus creation are befuddling, or one who holds (secret) doubts about the veracity of Genesis with its myth-like claims--in which a serpent speaks and fruit gives knowledge (as well as eternal life)--this book will reassure readers' faith. Importantly, for those who wonder how Genesis 1-3 might address twenty-first-century America, Clausen transforms antiquity's message into a relevant, theological critique. Beyond Myth vaults readers into a dynamic, new understanding of this ancient text, one free from mythic falsehoods, from science battering the Bible, and from deception as the church slips deeper into fragmentation, chaos, and the despair of political darkness.

Wallace R. Clausen is a retired educator of thirty-nine years, twenty-six as an elementary school principal. This peer-awarded, distinguished principal and master teacher writes out of an interdisciplinary approach, combining biblical theology, literacy-based learning, and educational theory to provide readers fresh insights into Genesis. He is the author of Last Words of Christ: A Call to Understanding.
