Beyond Report - Poems of Distance and Meaning

Beyond Report – Poems of Distance and Meaning is a collection of striking, meticulously crafted poetry that explores themes of loss, isolation, memory, and the search for meaning in a world that resists understanding.

With a keen poetic ear and a gift for sharp, evocative imagery, Mike Cormack has created poems that move between the urban and the elemental, the deeply personal and the vast, impersonal forces that shape our lives. From the bleak alienation of grimy city streets to the aching pull of nostalgia, from the weight of knowledge to difficulties in communicating, each unique piece lingers with a sense of deep emotional resonance.

Influenced by Philip Larkin, Allen Ginsberg, T.S. Eliot, and Scottish poets like Tom Leonard and Liz Lochhead, this collection deftly balances intellect with raw feeling, verbal precision with lyrical beauty. Whether capturing the fleeting intensity of youth, the disquiets of adulthood, or the limits of human understanding, Beyond Report is a collection that will haunt, challenge, and stay with you long after the final line.
